On our trip to Takhlakh Lake this year, a bit of disappointment
as we had to take a very long route to get there, via down to
Columbia River via I-5, 205, hwy 14 up to Hood River then hwy 141 in via Trout Lake.
Then we never did even see Mt Adams as it was a ghost with all the smoke
from all the fires at that time.
Here are pics shot from same spot (last year/this year) so you can see what I am talking about.

What Mt Adams looked like last year.

We did enjoy the best camping spot there though. Our spacious campsite

Fishing wasn't so good this year, they say had something to do with the wildfires smoke.

Last years fishing was much better!

Peaceful Fishing!
Hard to find a lake anymore that don't have high power boats zooming around!

Fish every night for dinner! And marshmellows with chocolates... yum!

Saw a nice waterfalls on the way back to camp.

We hiked around Takhlakh Lake and picked huckleberries along the way.
We did not do any other hikes as we couldn't see the mountains because of wildfire smoke.
